Champions Celtic travel to Ibrox as they take on their bitter rivals Rangers in the penultimate round of the Scottish Premiership.
With Celtic having already claimed the Scottish title, on paper this would seem like a meaningless Old Firm derby. In reality however, there’s no such thing as a meaningless clash between Rangers and Celtic when the supremacy of the city still on the line.
Both teams are in good form but, it is Rangers who have been particularly devastating over the past few weeks. Since their 2-1 loss to Celtic, Steven Gerrard’s men have been unbeaten winning five straight games; scoring 12 goals and conceding one in the process.
Following the departure of Brendan Rodgers, Celtic seem to have lost their aura of invincibility. This was certainly the case in recent games against Livingston and Hibernian as both ended in goalless draws.
For Rangers, their motivation ahead of this game will come from watching their last encounter against Celtic. The Light Blues will no doubt want revenge for their heated 2-1 defeat at Celtic Park last March.
Looking at the betting, the recommendation is to back the home side. Rangers are a better price than their opponents and at 2/1, they cannot be ignored.
