Rangers take on Motherwell as they look to continue to recover from their disappointing defeat to Celtic last weekend.
That 2-1 defeat at Celtic Park has all but ended Rangers’ title challenge. Steven Gerrard’s side currently find themselves 13 points behind the Boys in Green and are highly unlikely to catch up to the league leaders.
For Motherwell, this game is also a bit of a lost cause. Steve Robinson’s men missed out on the top six by a margin of six points. But despite having to compete in the relegation group, don’t expect to see the Steelmen in the Championship anytime soon.
Motherwell are 23 points above the drop zone and will not have a lot to play for in the coming weeks.
Looking ahead to this fixture, it is the home side who are in arguably better form. Robinson’s side have won seven of their last 11 league games; that’s one more than Rangers have managed in the same space of time.
Nevertheless, the last time these two clubs met, Rangers ran out 7-1 winners. With that in mind, the recommendation is to back the visitors in the handicap market. Rangers minus a goal are currently priced at 7/5.
