After claiming the Portuguese title, FC Porto will be looking to make it a double winning season when they face Benfica in the Taca de Portugal final this Saturday.
Sergio Conceicao’s men finished five points clear of second-placed Benfica in the Primeira Liga table. They will now be looking to cause them more misery in the cup final as Porto eye their first Taca de Portugal title since 2011.
A win this weekend would certainly be a sweet one for Conceicao with the final taking place in his hometown of Coimbra.
As things stand, his men are the bookies favourites having been priced at 29/20. Benfica, meanwhile, are available at 19/10.
Benfica are by far the most successful club in this competition having won the title on 26 separate occasions.
Despite this, the Eagles have only featured in one of the last five finals. That appearance came in 2017 when a 2-1 victory over Vitoria de Guimaraes helped the side to what was a double winning season.
Both teams are coming into this game in good form. Benfica have won three of their four games in July; the last of which came against Sporting Lisbon.
Porto have also been in good form. The Blue and Whites won six straight games before losing 2-1 to Braga in their final outing of the season.
It’s clear we are in for a tight encounter and with that in mind, our recommendation is to go for a price play and back Benfica to win.
The Eagles offer more value for your buck at 19/10 and there’s nothing to say that they couldn’t give Porto a tough time.
