Borussia Dortmund host in-form Hertha Berlin in Saturday’s early evening Bundesliga action.
After narrowly losing Der Klassiker against title rivals Bayern, Dortmund kept their faint hopes of winning the Bundesliga alive last weekend with an impressive 1-6 thrashing of bottom side Paderborn.
The game was goalless at half time, but Dortmund ran rampant after the break, scoring all six of their goals in a 40-minute period. The hosts have odds of 9/2 to repeat the trick here and win by four or more goals.
Englishman Jadon Sancho was in particularly fine fettle in his first start since the return of the Bundesliga - he nabbed a hat-trick, the first of his career.
He’s 9/1 to do so again here, and the favourite to open the scoring at 3/1, with star striker Erling Haaland - 10 league goals since his arrival in January - a doubt. Senior players Mats Hummels (suspended) and Marco Reus (muscle injury) are also unavailable.
Hertha Berlin ought to offer a lot sterner test than Paderborn, however, returning from the restart looking like a different team than the side that was threatened with relegation in the spring. They’ve taken 10 points from 12 available with three wins and a draw, which was 2-2 away to title challengers RB Leipzig.
Otherwise, their three recent wins have come at an aggregate score of 9-0. Still, they’re a massive 13/2 to continue that run of form and win at the Westfalstadion - Dortmund lost their last home game without their fans in the famous ‘yellow wall’, but that was to perennial champions Bayern, and they’ve otherwise won seven of their last eight league games.
We recommend backing in-form Jadon Sancho to open the scoring here at 3/1.
