It’s hard to have much faith in Bournemouth right now and Wolves look solid favourites for Wednesday’s Premier League meeting of the two.
The Cherries would have been hoping that the enforced lay-off would get them out of a rut but they looked firmly stuck in it with an insipid display at home to Crystal Palace, losing the game 2-0.
They have now taken just eight points from their last 13 games and their chances of adding a much-needed win in this fixture suffered a blow when Josh King limped off at the weekend. He looks unlikely to play here.
Wolves, meanwhile, were fully deserved 2-0 winners at West Ham.
Adama Traore was only used as a substitute on that occasion but his pace was as deadly as it was pre-lockdown and he set up one of the goals.
The winger could well start in this game, as could another man who came off the bench, Pedro Neto, and the duo could provide the route to profit.
First up, back Adam Smith to pick up a card at 13/5. The Bournemouth left-back looks set to go up against Traore, who has regularly earned fouls against him which have resulted in bookings.
Smith has collected seven cards in 19 appearances in the league, including three in his four games at left-back – he’s more comfortable in the opposite full-back position.
Secondly, Neto to score at any time looks worth a try at 6/4.
He found the net at West Ham and looks an ideal candidate to come into the starting XI – boss Nuno will surely make changes given the lack of match fitness at present.
The Portuguese youngster has four goals in 12 appearances in 2020 and the majority of those games have been as a substitute.
If he does start at home to one of the league’s worst teams, he has the ability to find the target.
Aside from those two player bets, it’s hard to argue against Wolves at 11/20, while those seeking a bigger price could try 13/2 about the hosts winning 2-0.
That’s been Wolves’ most common winning scoreline this season with Bournemouth’s fellow strugglers Watford and West Ham both losing via this method at Molineux this term.
