Relegation battlers Watford host Leicester in the Premier League’s early afternoon kick-off on Saturday.
Remarkably, Watford’s only win in their last six Premier League games was their unforgettable 3-0 victory over champions-elect Liverpool, and they could only follow that up with a limp 1-0 defeat at Crystal Palace last weekend.
The Hornets do remain out of the bottom three, for now, but only on goal difference, and another win at Vicarage Road could prove vital to their prospects of being in this league next year.
They’ve won each of their last three home Premier League games against Leicester, all of which have been via a 2-1 scoreline, while all four of their total home wins this season have come since Nigel Pearson was appointed as manager. Only Liverpool have won more points on home soil than Watford since he was appointed.
Leicester, meanwhile, bounced back from a poor run of form with an emphatic 4-0 victory over Aston Villa on Monday evening, just their second win in their last eight league outings, a run that also includes four defeats.
Still, the Foxes have a commanding eight-point lead over Manchester United in fifth and will be confident of consolidating their place in the Champions League qualification spots.
We recommend backing Jamie Vardy to score anytime. The striker is the Foxes designated penalty taker, the Premier League’s top scorer, and he scored twice on his return from injury last time out.
