The league’s two worst defences go head to head at St Mary’s on Wednesday night.
Given Norwich have bounced back since the international break, it’s a tad surprising to see them up at 18/5 to gain the win.
Southampton may finally have won a home game at the weekend – 2-1 over Watford – but they are very unconvincing odds-on favourites.
It’s been a real struggle for them in front of their home fans, just four points have been collected, and beating the worst team in the division should not be seen as a fantastic result.
Another negative is that Sofiane Boufal, who made a big impact as a sub on Saturday, is a doubt due to injury.
Admittedly, Norwich have been far from free-scoring on their travels but they netted twice at Everton, a side who won at St Mary’s recently. They then backed that up with a 2-2 draw at home to Arsenal in a game where they regularly threatened and only a great save and the post denied them victory.
Teemu Pukki was back in the goals in that game but it is the livewire Todd Cantwell who offers value in the goalscoring markets.
His effort against Norwich was his fourth in 12 Premier League starts and the shaky Saints defence is likely to have problems stopping the youngster.
He links up well with Pukki, who has assisted three of those four goals – no pair has combined for more goals this season.
Cantwell is 19/5 to find the net for the third successive game (Pukki is just 13/8). Along with the away win (10/3), that’s worth backing.
To combine the two, Cantwell to score in a Norwich win is offered at a top price of 10/1 by 888sports’ Bet Builder feature.
