Newcastle United will be aiming to end a four match winless run when they host Frank Lampard’s Chelsea side this Saturday evening.
Chelsea could tighten their grip on the top four when they travel to St. James’ Park. Frank Lampard’s side are five points clear of Manchester United and a win could see them extend that lead – especially with the Red Devils taking on league leaders Liverpool on Sunday.
Newcastle, meanwhile, will be aiming for a win as only three points could give them some much needed respite.
Following a run of four league games without a win, Steve Bruce’s side are under growing pressure. With only five points separating them and the relegation zone, every point matters for the Magpies and their bid to remain in the Premier League next season.
From a betting perspective, this should be easy pickings for us punters. However, one stat certainly gives us cold feet about siding with the Blues. One win in six visits to Newcastle is hardly a convincing statistic – what’s more, it is Steve Bruce’s side who have won four of those six games.
Newcastle are understandably the huge underdogs in this game at the price of 19/4. However, our recommendation is to back a double chance bet which sees either a home win or a draw at a reasonable price of 6/4.
