Burnley have entered the battle for Europe and they’ll be looking to help their cause by adding three more points to their total when they travel to Newcastle this weekend.
Burnley are in cracking form at the minute having won four of their last five Premier League games. Looking at the form table over the course of the last five games, only Liverpool have a better record having won all of their five fixtures.
Wins over Leicester, Manchester United, Southampton, Bournemouth and a goalless draw with Arsenal have shot Burnley up the Premier League standings to the point where they are now just seven points away from the top four.
One team hoping to end this run is Newcastle United. Steve Bruce’s side haven’t lost a home league game against Burnley since 1976 however, they are coming into this tie with poor form under their belts.
Following a run of two straight defeats, United currently find themselves seven points above the drop zone. More worryingly, they haven’t scored a goal in over 270 minutes of Premier League football.
Then again, Newcastle are tough to beat when it comes to games at St. James’ Park. Only three sides have managed to win there this season and for Burnley to follow suit would be a huge achievement.
The Clarets are eyeing a third straight away win and they’re currently priced at 2/1 to do it.
Considering how well they’ve played in recent weeks, this is a decent price and it has to be the recommendation in this game.
