Huddersfield face something of an injury crisis ahead of the bottom club's home clash with Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon.

bet365 match odds: Huddersfield 12/5, Draw 23/10, Bournemouth 27/20

The Terriers are currently 13 points from safety but boss Jan Siewert refuses to give up hope, although their task has been made all the more harder after suffering a number of injury problems.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Siewert admitted he is "short on numbers" at present, with six first-team squad members in danger of missing the visit of the Cherries.

Jonathan Hogg and Laurent Depoitre are the latest players to enter the treatment room, due to rib and foot problems respectively, while the hosts are still missing Demeaco Duhaney, Adama Diakhaby and Isaac Mbenza.

Tommy Smith is still suspended following his red card at Newcastle, but Siewert is hopeful that Jon Stankovic will feature having been able to train over the last couple of days.

Bournemouth, who have failed to win any of their last five Premier League matches, also have some fitness concerns heading in to the clash at the John Smith's Stadium.

Eddie Howe says he will hand a late fitness test to Callum Wilson, with the England striker having been sidelined since January with a knee injury.

Bournemouth have also been hit by the news that Steve Cook - who has missed the last three games - faces a further 'five to six weeks' on the sidelines after suffering an infection from a groin problem.

Huddersfield won this fixture 4-0 last season, with Cook scoring an own goal, but Bournemouth are looking for a league double over the Terriers this term, having won 2-1 in the reverse fixture.

    Huddersfield Town 0-2 Bournemouth

    Date published: 3/9/2019 6:23:44 PM

Bournemouth won their first away game in nine attempts after a routine display against lowly Huddersfield Town on Saturday.

The Terriers moved closer to relegation with yet another defeat as they struggled to create chances in front of their own fans at the John Smith’s Stadium.
Their best chance came in the eighth minute when Aaron Mooy’s free-kick was punched away by Bournemouth goalkeeper Artur Boruc.
England international Callum Wilson was then denied by Jonas Lossl in the 14th minute but soon got the better of him just six minutes later after some sloppy defending.
David Brooks started the move before playing in Ryan Fraser and the winger turned provider for Wilson, who stooped low to chest home into an empty net.
Huddersfield offered very little before the end of the first half, with Josh King volleying wide with the last kick of the half.
Nathaniel Clyne came on for the injured Adam Smith who appeared to have suffered a hamstring injury.
The momentum remained with the Cherries in the second half but Eddie Howe lost another player to an injury, with Brooks limping off with a calf injury.
Howe’s side doubled their advantage in the 67th minute when Wilson turned provider for Fraser this time. King played in his striker partner and he cut the ball back for Fraser, who smashed it past Lossl.
Wilson had three more chances to score again before the full-time whistle while Nathan Ake had a header cleared off the line by Matias Jorgensen.
Huddersfield eventually succumbed to defeat to remain bottom of the table as Bournemouth moved closer to the top ten.
