The Blues are in cracking form and come into this latest fixture having won eight of their last ten games in all competitions.

In their last game, Frank Lampard’s side came back from 4-1 down to draw 4-4 against Ajax Amsterdam in the Champions League.

That type of character has been on display for a number of weeks now from the Blues who are continuing to rise through the ranks.

However, Crystal Palace will not be easy opposition. While the Eagles may not be in the best of form over the last three of four weeks, all in all Roy Hodgson’s side have started the season strongly.

Palace are currently ninth with 15 points to their name however, a win over Chelsea will take them above Arsenal into 5th

Similarly to last season, the Eagles are enjoying better form away from home than they are at Selhurst Park. With that in mind, could they be on a path to a famous Stamford Bridge shock?

The bookmarkers have made Chelsea the firm favourites at 1/3 while the visitors have been priced at 15/2.

Interestingly, Palace have a good recent record in London derbies winning two of their last four. However, with Chelsea seeking their six straight Premier League win, it really is hard to look past them.

One man who has been in particularly good form for the Blues has been Tammy Abraham. Therefore, the recommendation is to back the striker to score his tenth goal in 14 league games for Lampard’s side.

Recommendation

First goalscorer Tammy Abraham – 3/1 bet365*

    Chelsea 2-0 Crystal Palace

Chelsea made it six Premier League victories in a row as they deservedly overcame London rivals Crystal Palace 2-0 at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues showed two changes to the side which won 2-1 at Watford last time out in the league, with Reece James handed a first Premier League start in place of Cesar Azpilicueta and N’Golo Kante replacing the suspended Jorginho.

The Eagles made just one alteration to the starting XI who lost 2-0 at home to Leicester City last Sunday, with Andros Townsend back after injury to replace Jeffrey Schlupp.

Early on Palace keeper Vincente Guaita had to tip away a cross from the right from James, with the hosts enjoyed the vast majority of the early play.

Twelve minutes in Willian burst forward from halfway and played in Christian Pulisic on the left edge of the area. He skipped past his marker only to see his shot blocked by the alert Guaita.

Willian and Emerson saw curling free-kicks fly narrowly wide as the Blues continued to dominate, with the Eagles offering little in the way of an attacking threat.

However, the visitors survived unscathed up until half-time, with Willian seeing a close-range effort in stoppage time superbly blocked by former Blue Gary Cahill.

The second half started with Chelsea again dominating the possession, with the visitors still yet to register a shot in the game.

The deadlock was broken seven minutes into the second period when Willian flicked a superb pass into the path of Tammy Abraham, who confidently tucked the ball past Guaita for his tenth league goal of the season.

Guaita did well to tip away a Pulisic drive as the hosts pushed for a second goal, with the visitors now forced to be more positive in their play.

Twenty minutes from time and James Tomkins headed wide from a free-kick as Palace threatened for the first time.

Nine minutes later it was 2-0 to Chelsea as Michy Batshuayi saw his shot deflected and Pulisic raced in to head the loose ball past Guaita and seal the win.
