After getting a hard-earned draw away at Fratton Park, Oxford United will be looking to seal their place in the play-off final when they host Portsmouth this Monday afternoon.
In what proved to be a tight contest, neither team was able to grab a winner in the opening leg of this semi-final contest.
The 1-1 draw ended Oxford’s run of five straight league victories and extended Portsmouth’s winless run in all competitions to four games.
The bookmakers have made Oxford the slight favourites at the price of 6/4 while the visitors are available in the outright market at 2/1.
One major concern for Pompey will be their away record. Kenny Jackett’s men have lost all three of their most recent away trips with the team failing to score a single goal throughout this time.
What’s more, the south coast side have only recorded three wins from their last 15 visits to Oxford.
The Yellow’s, on the other hand, haven’t lost a game of football since mid-February and they will be looking to take that unbeaten mentality into this clash.
Bearing everything in mind, our recommendation is to back the home side to win on Monday afternoon by two goals to one.
This bet is currently priced at 9/1 which offers a lot more value than any of the outright prices. What’ more, Oxford’s last home game ended with exactly the same scoreline as the U’s beat Southend 2-1.
