Bidvest Wits will be looking to consolidate top spot in the Absa Premiership when they face Supersport United at Bidvest Stadium on Saturday.
Wits beat AmaZulu 3-0 in their opening league encounter and then slipped up to Baroka 1-0 before claiming a 1-0 victory over Polokwane City.
Supersport, meanwhile, lost to Mamelodi Sundowns 2-0 to get their season underway before bouncing back with an impressive 3-0 dismantling of Orlando Pirates.
Two-goal hero in Matsatsantsa's victory over the Buccanners Bradley Grobler praised coach Kaitano Tembo for changing the formation, which he said ultimately paid off.
Tembo switched from a 4-4-2 to a 4-2-3-1, leaving Grobler up top on his own and dropping new recruit Thamsanqa Gabuza to the bench. The Matsatsantsa mentor is likely to stick with the winning formula.
Supersport centre-back Clayton Daniels explained how the change in formation contributed to the victory.
"Our game plan worked for us," Daniels said
"We decided to press them high and don't let them play from the back and on the night all the players were on the same page in terms of attitude, energy and quality.
“They tried, they wanted to play their normal game, build up from the back. Their formation changed also thinking we will play 4-4-2, but we didn't do that. So they changed their formation in the second half, but still we sticked to our guns."
Meanwhile, Clever Boys coach Gavin Hunt made three changes from the Baroka defeat for the Polokwane victory, bringing in Gift Motupa, Carl Lark and Thabang Monare for Terrence Dzvukamanja, Mxolisi Machuphu and Phathutshedzo Nange respectively.
The Students have been rocked by the news this week that inspirational skipper Thulani Hlatshwayo wants a new challenge, with Pirates reportedly on high alert. Hunt insisted the Bafana Bafana skipper was happy at the club despite his comments but is well aware that he needs to win silverware if he is to keep the likes of Tyson at the club.
Supersport claimed a 1-0 victory over Wits in their opening league encounter last season, before the sides played to a 1-1 draw in the return fixture.
