Following some strong results over the past few months, both Aston Villa and West Brom have been able to secure places in the Championship play-offs.
The two Birmingham enemies now meet in the first semi-final as both look for a return into the top flight.
With the exception of their last two games, Aston Villa have been in sensational form. Before their 1-1 draw with Leeds United, the Villains were on a run of ten straight victories.
Steve Bruce will be hoping his side can replicate such form in the play-offs as they look to return to the top flight after a three year absence.
West Brom, on the other hand, will be looking to return to the Premier League at the first time of asking following their relegation last season.
The Baggies are also in decent form having won six of their last ten league games. However, in their last outing, James Shan’s men did suffer a 3-1 loss to Derby County – a loss that cost West Brom a third place finish.
