Paddy Power pre-match odds: Chelsea 1/4, Draw 9/2, West Ham 9/1*
Chelsea will host the Hammers on Monday night as their bid for a top-four finish in the Premier League intensifies, and both Hudson-Odoi and Loftus-Cheek are expected to play a key part between now and the end of the campaign.
Both young English talents shone in Chelsea's 3-0 win over Brighton in midweek, but Sarri rejected suggestions he had been urged by club bosses to hand both men more playing time.
Asked if he was under pressure to select Hudson-Odoi and Loftus-Cheek, Sarri replied: "No. It's up to the players, they are improving. In this moment of the season, they are fresh. So I think that, in this moment, they are really very important for us.
"But at the beginning of the season, Odoi had a very great potential but wasn't ready to play in the Premier League. Loftus the same. He had only to adapt to my football, to improve tactically for my football.
"Then he had a lot of problems with his back, and so we had to wait for him. But now they are fresh; they are ready."
Chelsea have a chance to move into third place in the Premier League table when they take on their London rivals West Ham this Monday night.
Chelsea may not be firing on all cylinders however, one thing Maurizio Sarri’s side are doing is winning.
The Blues bounced back well from their surprise 2-0 defeat to Everton. Victories over Cardiff and Brighton have somewhat lifted the mood at Stamford Bridge but there still is a lot more work to be done.
A big win over West Ham is undoubtedly going to restore faith in the manager after many began calling for his head. However, winning against West Ham may prove a lot easier said than done.
Chelsea have only recorded one win in five encounters against the Hammers. What’s more, in three games at Stamford Bridge, the Blues have only managed one win which came all the way back in the 2016.
But it’s not all happy go lucky in the West Ham camp either. Manuel Pellegrini’s men are not in the best form at the moment and are particularly struggling away from home. In fact, the Hammers are without a win in seven away trips in all competitions.
Bearing all that in mind, the betting recommendation is to back the hosts. The Blues to win by a margin of one goal is currently priced at 11/4 which is a reasonable price when you consider this landed in all of Chelsea’s previous three wins over West Ham.
